Power in Numbers

The 2009 SEW calendar is starting to take shape!  So far, we've got four confirmed races for the series: Rock Hill (SC), Sunny King (AL), French Broad (NC), and new for 2009, the series FINALE for double points at the Dick Lane Velodrome (GA).  The double points up for grabs should be an incentive for everyone to get certified to ride on the track!  However, we still have a couple of gaps in the schedule and are looking to add races in Tennessee and Florida.  We'll work to keep you updated on any new additions to the schedule.  In the meantime, we'd like to update you on a few changes that are taking place with the 2009 series.

This year, we're using some of the more popular social networking sites to promote the SEW series.  Join our Facebook group and follow our Twitter page for updates, pictures, video, and results, or just get to know other people who are interested in women's cycling.  New for the SEW website will be a classifieds page, and a member forumAlso new for 2009 will be an end of the season SEW awards bash, at one of our favorite watering holes, TBA!

These are just a few of the free ideas that we've implemented so far. However, we see that there is an opportunitytomake a much bigger impact on women's cycling, but to do that we're going to need everyone's help. To keep the momentum going and be able to implement some of these great ideas, we need to replenish the coffers.  SEW needs cash sponsorship, and we can always use more product sponsorships.  It's our hope that by reaching out to each of you, the athletes involved with the sport of women's cycling and who can directly benefit from this series, that we can move the SEW series to the forefront of women's cycling.

The great thing about women's cycling is that it's universal - you can cross paths with so many people from different walks of life. Chances are that you know someone (or are someone) who can donate cash prizes or cycling product.  Make it a professional goal for yourself this year to do something for women's cycling by leveraging your contacts to make the SEW series the best it can be - because you have a voice in this sport and we can make our voices heard!

Feel free to contact us about sponsorship (and we should have a Paypal page up soon to make this part easier), we're always happy to provide more information and answer any questions.  Thanks in advance for helping to make the SEW series a success for 2009!
